Construction of the new Dauphinais factory starts soon
Les entreprises Dauphinais are investing $25 million to build a new factory on Portland Boulevard, on the vacant site across from Précigrafik. The company, which designs, manufactures and distributes refrigerated display cases, plans to start working on the 100,000 sq. ft. facility in the spring, and move in 2026.
Preparations for the new site will begin in the coming weeks. Dauphinais’ current location on Bourque Boulevard in Rock Forest no longer suited the company, which has almost tripled its sales in the last five years.
“We’re going to increase our production capacity and it will be much more industrial than what we’re doing at the moment,” explains Sylvain Roux, the company’s CEO.
Dauphinais works with Costco, Walmart and Loblaws, among others. It is currently working on a $2.3 million project in Vancouver, and plans to enter the Mexican market in 2025.
“Our industry is worth $1.7 billion annually, says Mr. Roux. We’re five major manufacturers in North America, while there are 45 manufacturers in Europe for a market that’s almost identical.”
